Shepherds Bay angora rabbits’ wool is wonderfully soft, fabulous to spin, and awesome to wear. Angora rabbits’ wool is valued not only for its softness and light weight, but also for its thermal qualities. Angora is seven times warmer than sheep’s wool. The hollow structure of the fiber wicks moisture away from the skin, keeping the wearer warm and dry.

Our angora rabbits’ wool is clipped with a scissors three to four times annually. The rabbits are not harmed in the harvesting of wool.  Angora rabbits naturally molt several times each year, and the wool must be removed to prevent matting.

Our most popular products are handspun angora yarns and hand knit angora mittens.  Unbelievably soft and fluffy, the yarn and mittens develop a lovely halo during the knitting process.
